In this sequel to "Father of the Bride", Stanley Banks (Spencer Tracy) has finally accepted his daughter's recent marriage when he is shocked to learn that she is pregnant. While the rest of his family and his in-laws are overjoyed at the news, Banks is once again jolted with the prospect of his own mortality. After coming to grips with that, he must contend with being a grandparent which is especially hard since the new-born seems to cry every time he is near it.
